A Day of Weather (or pissing?)

We awoke to an electrical storm this morning which was off and on for an hour.  Undiscouraged, we got out the rain gear to the farmer's market in the square below our apartment.

Then it was off to the Grand Place to see the sights.

Sparkling guild houses surrounded us.

But then, there was also the neon tacky statuary.
Here's the actual Mannakin Pis dressed for the World Cup game today.

Here he is made of waffle.

We strolled through the fancy indoor gallery of shops.
Aunt Louise is now inspired to hang planters like they were all down the streets.
Kylie got her Brussels waffle for lunch.
We keep noticing how graphic the bathroom signs are here.
You know there must be a reason they needed this one in the waffle restaurant.
Great gardens in the city.
We went to the Royal Museum of Fine Arts.  Photos are discouraged but we snuck a few to set the scene.
The royal palace is next door. Hi king!
The Rene Magritte museum is attached to the main museum.  We all agreed that his paintings were a bit over our heads.
The day ended with another storm that we saw out the back balcony.

In the end, we were rewarded with a rainbow over the square.
